A patron asks a librarian for a book called "Oranges and Peaches." The librarian asks, Do you happen to know the book's author? The patron replies, Oh, it's by someone named Darwin. I have to read it for a class. The librarian finds a copy of "The Origin of Species" for the patron.

The joys of public service
Some things from Emily Post that I wish were common knowledge, or at least valued and practiced. Bad day, I guess.
